Assistant Tasting Room Manager

Report:  Operations Manager
Location: Chelan, WA
Salary: starting $37,000 (DOE), plus tips and bonuses
Position: Full-time with benefits after 60 days

The Assistant Manager will work with the Operations Manager to create an exceptional customer experience in our newest location. The successful candidate will be proficient in retail wine sales, membership conversion, and membership acquisition. This person must promote a company culture that encourages integrity, positive results, excellence, an attitude of servitude, and sustainability.

Requirements:

  • Meet/Exceed Sales Goals
    • Increase average sales per visitor and average bottle price
    • Upsell guests from main bar into elevated tasting experiences
  •  Increase customer acquisition
  • Wine membership acquisition
  • Name/email capture
  • Drive visitorship and traffic
  • Develop visitorship to the Tasting Room while exceeding per person and per bottle sales
  • Proactively seek out local partnerships to increase brand awareness and business development.
  • Execute best-in-class wine club, tour and tasting experiences, and tasting room events
  • Provide friendly, casually elegant level of service, adhering to RP service standards
  • Provide customer satisfaction and member loyalty
  • Elevate customer wine knowledge of wine, winemaking, and vineyard operation.
  • Assist in planning & executing wine dinners, release parties, and private buyouts

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • College degree in retail/business management or hospitality, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience; tasting room retail, direct to consumer sales, high-end restaurant or hotel experience will be preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Must be available to work weekends, special events and holidays
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Superior customer service skills and service driven
  • Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and team members
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up and work in a fast pace environment under pressure
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Proactive and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding expertise
  • Must be available on weekends and one-off special events 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds at varying frequencies
  • Ability to operate various types of machinery including, but not limited to, lift trucks, hand trucks, dishwashers, etc.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Sous Chef

You will work alongside seasoned industry professionals and have the opportunity to learn how a winery tasting room operates. Opportunity for growth and promotion based on performance.

Rocky Pond’s Sous Chef will oversee the daily culinary operations in Woodinville and support tasting room personnel and sales initiatives. This includes adequate and cost-effective ordering of the ingredients, preparation of food items, delivery of food items in a timely and personable manner and training of tasting room personnel. The candidate must be detailed oriented, enthusiastic, and passionate about health and sustainable farming. Must be a team player and enjoy interacting with guests to provide an exceptional, high-touch, experience. Required to promote a company culture that encourages integrity, positive results, excellence, an attitude of servitude, and sustainability.

Responsibilities:
· Be proficient in estimating food consumption and costs.
· Adhere to presentation techniques and quality standards.
· Ability to offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques at company events.
· Responsibly maintain and repair all kitchen-related equipment.
· Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food sanitation regulations.
· Handle food, and train kitchen personnel, in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines.
· Ensure safety regulations, report injuries, and maintain safe conditions and work practices.

Requirements:
· Must have at least 5+ years of experience.
· Possess an extensive understanding of professional kitchen use and workflow.
· Ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of kitchen staff effectively.
· Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
· Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and time management skills.
· Requires moderate physical efforts: standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
· Working conditions involve noise, heat, changes in temperature, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc.
· May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing.

Culinary Support

• Must maintain a neat appearance, proper attire for a casually sophisticated tasting room
• 18 years of age with reliable transportation

Responsibilities:
· Assist chef by preparing food items as directed
· Understanding of menu items offered with the ability to deliver accurate descriptions to guests
· Maintains a clean and sanitary working area, with proper floor maintenance as needed
· Inventory and replenish food items throughout the day
· Clear tables and sanitized all surface area
· Dishwashing

Scheduling & Hours
· Must be available on weekdays & weekends
· Flexibility required with special events & other busy days
